GVYY Fair

21C@JC, initiated and funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, held the GVYY Fair cum Award Presentation Ceremony on 22 and 23 November at AIRSIDE, Kai Tak. Jointly organized by 36 participating Integrated Children and Youth Services Centres (ICYSCs) under 21C@JC, the event brought together the creativity and energy of young people and social workers to showcase the new youth-centric service model of the rejuvenated centres.

The "GVYY" Fair aims to create a dynamic and inclusive space with "Good Vibes", where different young people of could receive equal opportunities in developing their potentials and engage with their communities. Highlights include thematic zones and activities which embodies 21C@JC’s “youth-centric” transformation model, featuring the "three new-s" on New Space – integrating physical and virtual centres; New User Experience – promoting youth-led participation, and; New Service – creating engaging community hotspots for youth.

The Director of Social Welfare, Mr. Edward To Wing-hang, JP and Steward of the Hong Kong Jockey Club, Mr. John Lo, officiated at the opening ceremony.

In his speech, Mr. Lo emphasized that the Club has long prioritized the positive life trajectory of youth and spearheaded the 21C@JC initiative, partnering with 15 operating agencies and The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Through the power of youth–adult partnership, we have transformed ICYSCs into unique, vibrant community hotspots.

More than 700 young participants and 36 ICYSCs participated in the co-creation of the event, demonstrating the essence of youth-centricity embodied in 21C@JC. Looking ahead, the Club plans to continue promoting its charitable strategy of empowering  “Children and Youth and Families”, further enhancing cross-sector collaboration to help the younger generation better equip themselves, become active citizens, and contribute to society.

Mr. To Wing-hang, Director of Social Welfare, also highlighted: “The 21C@JC project aims to transform Integrated Children and Youth Services Centres into innovative spaces that are youth-led, future-oriented, and merges online and offline experiences. Through the power of youth–adult parntership, it truly delivers on youth-centric services. Following the recent service review of ICYSCs, we hope that centres will further strengthen community interaction and collaboration, bringing more innovative ideas and participation opportunities for young people, thereby supporting their growth and future development.”

The two-day fair featured a variety of engaging programs that brought the spirit of youth–adult partnership to life through youth-led interactions and showcases. Participants experienced first-hand how the project is reshaping youth services. Event highlights include the Chit-Chat Challenge, Sled Challenge, Youth Performances, Interactive Booths, and Experience Zone, where visitors could immerse themselves in a space simulating the user experience at a 21C centre and enjoy the fun of self-directed participation. The fair offered diverse, interactive experiences appealing to young people of all personalities and the general public.

The event also featured the “21C@JC Youth-Centric Service Transformtion Award” Ceremony, recognizing the dedication and achievements of both youth and social workers, and promoting continued collaboration and innovation within the sector.
